
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (January 5, 1928–April 4, 1979) was a Pakistani politician who served as the President of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973 and as Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977. He was the founder of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), one of the largest and most influential political parties of Pakistan. His daughter Benazir Bhutto also served twice as prime minister before being assassinated on December 27, 2007.
Bhutto was executed in 1979 following a controversial trial for authorizing the murder of a political opponent.The move was largely seen as being politically motivated under the directives of General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.[3][4] He is also referred to as Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
