If you don't cover the potato it might evaporate the water from the potato through the poked holes in the microwave 🙂 Not that it ever happened to me (fingers crossed behind my back) LOL. I will try wrapped in wet paper towel and tupperware with lid for protection and 6 minutes…Update: try 4 minutes if you have wet paper towel and tupperware. Mine shrunk again

It is not safe to Microwave Potatoes in a polythene bag. A microwave works on the principle of energizing the water molecules in the food to generate heat thus cook the food. This process happens inside out that is the centre of the food gets heated first then the outer surface cooks. Once the potatoes become cooked the latent heat would melt the polythene thus spoiling your potatoes. Please use ceramic/ earthen ware or glass ware to cook the potatoes.

isnt there any other safer material to place them in besides plastic, plastic have some nasty chemicals in them and shouldnt be heated, the chemicals will leak into your food which will cause some health issues when consumed
